We are seeking a versatile and dynamic individual to join our team as a Project Manager/Business Development.

Job Overview:

The Construction Project Manager/Business Development role combines the responsibilities of managing construction projects with the strategic development of new business opportunities. This hybrid role requires a blend of technical project management skills, technical expertise, leadership, effective communication to manage all aspects of the construction process, from pre-construction planning to project closeout, and business acumen to drive the company's growth and ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management:

    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.

    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to establish project requirements.

    • Prepare detailed project budgets and cost estimates.

    • Oversee all phases of construction projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    • Manage day-to-day operations on construction sites, including supervising construction staff and subcontractors.

    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.

    • Allocate and manage resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project goals.

    • Monitor and track project progress, identifying and resolving issues promptly.

    • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.

    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.

  2. Team Leadership:

    • Recruit, train, and supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors as needed.

    • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

    • Conduct regular meetings to communicate project objectives, timelines, progress and expectations.

  3. Business Development:

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's client base and market presence.

    • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve growth targets.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.

    • Prepare and present proposals, bids, and contract negotiations to secure new projects.

    • Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities.

    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute marketing strategies and campaigns.

  4. Client Communication:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing concerns.

    • Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and excellent service delivery.

    • Address client concerns and requests in a timely and professional manner.

    • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site visits as needed.

  5. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.

    • Maintain accurate records of business development activities and outcomes.

    • Conduct project closeout activities, including final inspections and handover to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project management and business development within the construction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and best practices.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficient in project management software and tools.

  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field.

  • PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and business development activities simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
